Ryan Stewart wrote a nice article / tutorial available at Adobe Flex Developer Center featuring the brand new project “Cocomo”.

This tool was presented at Adobe Max 2007 and will allow you add real-time connectivity and collaboration to any Flex application. Cocomo allows you to have functionality such as whiteboarding and video chat, as well as a framework that you can use to build your own real-time components.
