Merry Christmas Beedigital, you just buy a fake Photoshop CS2 product!
It’s very strange how this kind of stories might happen so often. My story probably should be similar to many other’s, I’m reporting to let anyone know what happened to me to avoid that you fall in the same error.
One month ago while surfing eBay I was spotted to what it seemed a legitimate Adobe Photoshop CS2 box, it was new, not educational, never registered (could not be), and the best of all it was cheap ($260).
I need Photoshop so I decided to buy it. Problems started 1 day after buying when I noticed that the box was not being shipped from the seller’s country but from Taiwan!
Well the box arrived today, I open it and notice something strange on the box. The colors were somehow blur and not defined, the manual had the same problem.
The box had two Cd’s I pulled the installation one and inserted it in my laptop.
Ups, something is wrong!? They asked me for the serial (was at CD case) but I didn’t had to activate the product!? I clicked at the activation link on the help tab after installation but nothing happened. This issue was the same for the upgrade button.
The software itself works all wrong, arrow keys do not move objects, while in type mode if you press your arrow keys strange symbols appear.
That’s when I started to look at the box carefully and I notice the first sign of a fake product. The CD case didn’t bring the electronic seal they should have. That makes the software inside authentic I believe. Another issue I notice was the fact that the installation CD had some fingerprints on it and the case wasn’t even closed or totally sealed.
I have complain to eBay and Paypal and will be waiting for a solution for this. If there’s a solution.
$260 is 1/3 of what I win in some months. But let’s not discuss this.
The only think I wish the seller this Christmas is that he enjoys well the hard work money I gave him. Sooner or later he will pay for his acts.
The next step now is to wait for Paypal and eBay report of this.
If you want to help me you know how to do it:
Flash Image Viewer
This is a very simple and useful tutorial where you will create a image viewer using Actonscript 3.0.
This viewer will give you the option to navigate using the buttons at the movie but you can also navigate with your arrow keys. The right click menu for Flash will display two new options, one to download the current image and another to open the image in another browser window.
Talking about crisis
Beedigital is now hosted by (mt) Media Temple
In the last 24H you may have notice some problems here at Beedigital. I have been changing from server and it wasn’t has smooth has I expected and predicted. Beedigital is now hosted by (mt) Media Temple and I believe I have a more reliable server at the moment.
There are still some simple tasks I would like to perform, not everything is working 100% but I will leave everything fine still today.
If you find something strange please mail me the issue so that I can solve it has fast has possible.
Many thanks,
Mário

Back from vacations!
Hello again.
You might have notice that over the last three weeks there was a huge reduction on posts here at Beedigital. I was on vacations at Algarve and decided to forget computers, Flash etc etc. It was just sun, beach, drink, sports, family and much more. I must say these were maybe the coolest weeks I had from a few years ago.
Now I’m back, and ready to start posting again. So, stay tunned.

Beedigital Redesigned!
Over this weekend I have been busy giving this blog a new face. Using the Grid Focus template for wordpress and changing some code here and there I was able to put this new design working.
The new design is clearer I believe, everything is more organized and you will be able to find information much faster and easier.
You are free and welcome to leave your comments on the new design and give your opinion.
Many Thanks,
Mário

Ryan Stewart the years most popular posts
Looking back at the years most popular posts by ZDNet‘s Ryan Stewart — Every year ZDNet sends out a list of our most popular posts. This is based purely on pageviews so it could have been a particularly witty (or deceptive) title or just something from a big news day. It’s always fun to look back and since pageviews are a good metric, hopefully I can copy these [...]
